The candidate will be responsible for the management and supervision of the Anchorage in-court division, calendaring division, and up to three assistant supervisors. Regular job responsibilities will include the following. These may be reassigned within the division based on business requirements. Duties: Provide leadership, direction, and support to employees; Orient and train personnel in the application of court and departmental policies and procedures, court rules, and statutes; Hire, evaluate, and discipline personnel as required; Schedule, assign, and determine work priorities of employees; Monitor the work of employees for accuracy and completeness; bring discrepancies to employees' attention, counsel employees as to their work performance, and suggest methods for improvement as needed; Plan, organize, and streamline work duties and procedures to achieve the highest level of efficiency; Ensure deputy clerks are trained in all areas of the in-court and calendaring divisions so coverage is available when needed; Interpret new rules and statutes and prepare departmental procedures to comply with changes in rules and and laws; implement changes and prepare written instructions as necessary; Function as an in-court clerk as needed to provide coverage for district and superior court; Function as a senior staff consultant to the Clerk of Court and Area Court Administrator on issues and projects relating to in-court and calendaring procedures; make recommendations and suggestions for changes in procedures and assist in finalizing same; Prepare reports and data as requested; participate in meetings with administrative staff regarding case processing and court procedures; Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers of the court regarding in-court and calendaring procedures and case files; Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
