Performs all routine and miscellaneous MRI procedures. Also performs common Diagnostic Imaging procedures including those performed in the ER and OR. Will participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.
MRI Basic Competencies
· Routine protocols of all procedures performed in department
· Transporting and positioning for procedures
· Control safety of MRI suite; Maintain safe working area
· Assess patients' safety prior to exam
· Obtaining and evaluating medical history
· Use of teleradiography
· Use of 3D imaging (angio/mip/ortho)
· Practice aseptic techniques
· Knowledge and use of Imaging Network
· Film processing and reporting to Radiologists
· Use of all processors
Graduate from anAMASchoolof Radiologic Technology
ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR)
CRT (FloridaDepartment of Health licensure)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to MRI
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique and patient positioning techniques specific to MRI
Knowledge of safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous material and infection control policies
