Legal Fellow, Health Systems Integration
The candidate provides legal and policy research and analysis as part of Health Systems Integration technical assistance and capacity building assistance. Works closely with entire Health Systems Integration team to support programmatic activities. Support, with direction from the Senior Director of Health Systems & Policy and Manager of Health Systems Integration, key activities under health systems legal and policy portfolio, including conducting public health legal research, synthesizing complex policy material, and supporting development of webinars, peer learning opportunities, and deliverables to support health department efforts to navigate federal, state, and local laws and policies. Work across programs to provide legal and regulatory research and analysis expertise. Represent in various meetings with federal and national partners and other stakeholders. Attend and represent at conferences and participate in relevant external meetings. Interact with, and respond in a timely manner to, the needs of health department staff members. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelors Degree or equivalent (4 years of work experience is equivalent to a Bachelors Degree); JD preferred. Demonstrated legal research and analysis experience. Prior experience working in the area of HIV and or hepatitis a plus. Experience with governmental public health programs (preferably hepatitis prevention or surveillance programs). Interest in working with an HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis public health organization. Interest in working within a diverse work environment.
