As a teaching & training specialist in the New York Reserve Roastery, you will implement and facilitate key programs to effectively train and develop partners through their Roastery journey. In this role, you will be able to apply your skillset to: Leadership Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of StarbucksRole models a passion for service, coffee curiosity, operations excellence and innovation while inspiring partners to deliver the Roastery & Reserve ExperienceDemonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume and manages smooth transitions to keep store operating to established standards and to set a positive example for the store teamPlanning & ExecutionWorks with general manager and management team to help inform and develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results Collaborates cross functionally with the Global Starbucks' teams to ensure open communication across marketsProvides input into store staffing levels and decisions to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling and to maximize partner developmentTeaching & Training SpecialtyEquips partners with the right knowledge and skills to achieve excellence Ensures training is consistently planned, communicated, and recorded as complete Tailors training plans to partners' background and learning style to create a plan for continued area of focus Business Requirements Communicates observations, actions, outcomes, and follow-up items to management team on a regular basis Develops and maintains positive relationships with others by understanding and addressing individual motivation, cultural nuances, needs and concernsSupports management team in ensuring partners adhere to operational compliance requirementsRecognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs to recognize partners Summary of Experiences Experience planning, communicating and recording employee training, building trainer capability, experience leveraging company initiated training material Ability to asses needs of the learner and adapt training accordingly Progressively responsible retail or restaurant management experience with a focus on employee training and engagement Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Organization, planning, and strong problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Our success is best when shared with our partners, and we have a long-standing tradition of investing in our people.
