As the Product Development & Transformation Process Lead for Commercial/Group, you will serve as a joint owner of the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle process with the Group Business Product Implementation Operations team. This role will be the hub that connects the Group Product Management team with the key stakeholders across the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle and product portfolio updates. Position Overview
As the Product Development & Transformation Process Lead for Commercial/Group, you will serve as a joint owner of the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle process with the Group Business Product Implementation Operations team. This role will be the hub that connects the Group Product Management team with the key stakeholders across the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle and product portfolio updates. This position will identify & act upon opportunities to transform and optimize our Group Product Stage Gate development cycle process, Group Product governance model and ongoing collaboration between the Group Product Management team and key stakeholders on a continuous basis.
Collaborating & communicating with the Group Product Management team, the Group Business Product Implementation Operations teams and other key stakeholders; the Product Development & Transformation Process Lead will facilitate the governance model, provide business intelligence reporting on the Group Product development cycle work and lead cross functional meetings to ensure the ongoing strategic focus, alignment and execution of our Group Product development processes to deliver upon our Group Product development and enablement strategies. This role will create, document and train on our Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle processes/sub processes and develop best practices across the Group Product Team(s) in collaboration with Group Business Product Implementation Operations team(s) and other key stakeholder(s) to ensure that the Group Product portfolio roadmap is delivered upon efficiently in alignment with the Group Product & GMS segment priorities.
In addition to optimizing the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle and Group Product portfolio management processes with speed to market & business priority alignment; this role will lead the configuration, implementation and management of our planned Group Product portfolio management platform software application and tools that will ensure a common working platform within the Group Product Management Team for our ongoing Group Product portfolio management, development and innovation work. This individual will work in partnership with our Strategy Advancement team to maintain and publish our ongoing Group Product inventory and strategic roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, document and train the Group Product Management team on the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle processes and intake submission processes across key stakeholders (IT, Underwriting, Operations, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Others). Serve as the subject matter expert for the Group Product Management team.
Coordinate & facilitate the governance model of the Group Product Stage Gate Development cycle process and serve as the lead individual between the Group Product Management team and the key stakeholders across the product development lifecycle to advance the group product roadmap and ongoing group product maintenance priorities.
Ensure that all Group Product annual scorecard priorities, the Group Product roadmap and priority Local Market needs/asks of Group Product are accounted for the within the Stage Gate Product Development cycle processes & intake submissions.
Facilitate, maintain & report on the ongoing prioritization of the Group Product Stage Gate Development process intake inventory with Product Management leaders, Group Business Product Implementation Operations teams and other key stakeholders. Reconcile prioritization needs and conflicts across the Product Management Team as necessary.
In collaboration with the Group Business Product Implementation Operations team, a Group Product Stage Gate Development Dashboard & Reporting package will be developed/maintained & published to stakeholders that outline the work in progress and planned/future work. This will include the current Group Product portfolio management, updates/maintenance and the Group Product strategic roadmap priorities.
Configure & implement our planned Group Product centralized management platform software and tools to ensure a strong common working platform & foundation for our ongoing Group Product portfolio management and innovation pipeline work.
Build partnership & collaborate across key partners in success with the Group Product portfolio product lifecycle. These partners include: Group Product Management Team, Group Business Product Implementation Operations teams, IT, Underwriting and other identified key stakeholders.
Serve as the lead Group Product Management stakeholder and collaboration point with the Group Business Product Implementation Operations teams to collaborate on the associated workflows and cadences to advance the Group Product strategies and roadmap.
Collect feedback, identify and recommend product cycle development process improvement opportunities. Take action to execute across stakeholders on these opportunities to align with new operational and technological efficiencies to reduce product cycle development implementation timelines and capacity.
Role Essentials
Bachelor's Degree highly preferred and/or equivalent experience required
Insurance or health services industry experience preferred
5 years in Product Management or Product Operations roles required
The ability to communicate and influence senior executives to individual contributors
Product management discipline with proven project management skills necessary to meet deadlines
Advanced Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and other process mapping and product management software. Power-bi skills preferred
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Excellent time management skills, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
Understand iterative development frameworks and experience collaborating with cross disciplinary agile teams
The ability to build/maintain & communicate Product Development dashboards & product portfolio analytics to Group Product Management teams, key stakeholders, and leadership
Works under minimal supervision and be able to use independent judgment to analyze variable factors and determining the best course of action to deliver on the Group Product Development Cycle launches and in the advancement of the Group Product roadmap & strategic priorities.
Expert facilitator with ability to design and deliver multiple types of custom content for stakeholders
Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
