As our Sr. Net Developer you will
Participate in sales-related meetings with clients and potential clients to help articulate our technology vision and proposed solutions.
Assist with the creation of client proposals, specifically taking ownership of the proposed technical architecture, estimates for software development and system configuration hours, and definition of specific technology platforms and products to be used in the solution.
Take ownership of technical solutions from the design and architecture through development and unit testing.
Document technical designs, using flow charts, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, data flow diagrams, database schemas, descriptive software component documentation, etc. as required.
Assist project managers and directors with the creation of task-level project plans that detail the specific tasks required to deliver a solution.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to senior developers, developers, and junior developers on project assignments.
Work closely with project managers, directors, and account managers to ensure that client expectations are met and that project schedules and budgets are adhered to.
Assist less senior members of the staff with hands-on development work in high-pressure, time sensitive situations.
Help guide the technology directions for Guidance in general by recommending specific technologies to pursue, suggesting training and staff development activities, and monitoring the Microsoft technology horizon.
Develop software in a hands-on capacity by writing .Net source code (C#), developing databases using Microsoft SQL Server, and integrating solutions with leading Microsoft server software platforms (Sharepoint, Commerce Server, BizTalk, Exchange, SQL Server, etc.)
Perform code review sessions with other developers and suggest improvements or alternate strategies when appropriate.
Qualifications
8 years hands-on experience in the Information Technology industry, specifically related to software design and development, database design and development, and system integration.
3 years hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, specifically: .Net development, ASP.Net development, C# language, XML, SOAP, Web Services, SQL Server, Windows 2000/2003 server
Active Directory integration (for centralized user authentication / authorization)
3 years experience functioning in a lead technical role on large software development projects (e.g. $150K , 6 months, 3 developers)
Experience developing software using a formal, structured development methodology
Collaborative development in team environment
Formal testing / software quality assurance experience, including hierarchical test cycle (unit test / application test / system test / user-acceptance test)
Iterative approach to development, using short development cycles and frequent builds.
Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Unified Process / Rational Unified Process (UP/RUP)
Structured build & deployment process
Object Oriented Programming / Object Oriented Design (OOP/OOD)
Ability to accurately estimate software development tasks given a set of requirements and assumptions; ability to work with Project Managers to develop task-level project plans and proposals.
Ability to develop secure solutions and a knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security and defensive development.
Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following Microsoft technologies: Sharepoint, Commerce Server, Content Management Server, BizTalk, Office 2003 (custom development experience, Microsoft CRM, Microsoft ERP packages (Great Plains, Navision, Axapta), Project Server, Microsoft Infopath
Hands-on administration and/or infrastructure engineering experience with one or more of the following Microsoft technologies: o Windows 2000 / 2003 server, o Active Directory, o SQL Server,
o Sharepoint, o Commerce Server, o Content Management Server, o BizTalk,
Working knowledge of the following technologies, sufficient to be able to develop solutions to integrate into enterprise environments: o Web farms / load balancing, o Storage Area Networks (SAN), o Network Attached Storage (NAS), o Server clustering technologies, Enterprise backup , o Geographic load balancing and data replication
Education & Certification
Bachelor degree in engineering or computer science; masters degree a plus
Certifications in Microsoft technologies in the MCSD track
