Underwriter - Commercial Lines
The candidate should make good decisions and communicate clearly. Must be positive, self-motivated team players with strong analytical skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Be responsible for the selection and pricing of new business risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and service promises in addition to developing and maintaining relationships with customers in order to drive submissions and achieve company goals. Must embrace our underwriting model, exhibit critical thinking in all facets of the role and be able to articulate our products and value proposition to customers, as well as train and coach other underwriters as needed. Should have 3 years prior underwriting experience in Commercial Property & Casualty, Personal or Management & Professional Liability lines, OR 5 years prior business experience. Successful candidates have had prior business experience in the following industries: Non-underwriting insurance experience, such as sales, claims handling; Financial services, such as banking, mortgage underwriting, financial consulting, asset management, business analyst; Legal services, such as attorney, paralegal.
