Humana recently acquired two companies in the home health space, Kindred at Home and One Home Solutions. Kindred is the nation's largest home health provider with a predominant footprint in the fee for service Traditional Medicare space while One Home is a sub-capitated provider Humana that is responsible for all home health/DME/infusion spend in FL and TX. The Clinical Innovation team within the Home Segment is responsible for creating innovative care delivery models within the home health space by creating new models of care where the three companies intersect; in short, the goal of the Clinical Innovation team is to improve health outcomes and reduce total cost of care for Humana members while continuing to support Kindred's core fee for service business. At the same time, the innovation team must also create programs to support Kindred's core fee for service business. The team is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking leader for the position of Strategy Advancement Advisor. The overarching purpose of this role is to be the strategic business and finance anchor for the team as we advance key emerging care models built around home health. There is heavy lifting with program management of numerous projects in flight as well as working with the innovation team to develop new strategies. The advisor is also responsible for creating materials about innovation strategy/trend commitments and presenting them to senior leadership. This leader will work with the innovation team and DH&A to also develop innovative payment models.
This role is part clinical strategy and part operational. The Strategy Advancement Advisor leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Responsibilities
Program Management of multiple ongoing projects which include the innovation work in progress as well as managing any pilots in flight
Create business case and financial models to support innovative care models
Prepare presentations (MQC, MTC, leadership presentations)
Translate the clinical work into business language and be able to articulate the strategy effectively to senior leadership
Role Essentials
Bachelor's degree
7 or more years of strategy, finance, operations and/or consulting experience
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Must have in-depth knowledge of Humana's business and established relationships across Humana's business segments
Experience and influencing cross functional teams
Mastery of PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and project management tools
Able to translate the clinical problem to business application
Be able to able work across a matrix environment within and outside of Humana
Detail oriented individual with strong organization skills
Strong program management (multiple projects at once) skills
Approach a problem with humility, collaborative mentality, and a place of curiosity
