Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Junior Associate with 2-3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in privacy law, including knowledge of privacy incident response, compliance counseling, and privacy litigation. The position offers opportunities to work with an experienced team handling complex legal matters in data privacy and cybersecurity. This is a hybrid position with in-office requirements on a weekly basis, and the firm is open to candidates from various office locations, though Chicago and Dallas are preferred.

Location:

• Lansing, MI

Duties:

• Handle privacy incident response and risk management tasks.
• Provide counsel on compliance with state and federal privacy laws, including CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and biometric privacy regulations.
• Assist with privacy litigation matters and the development of strategies for resolving privacy-related legal issues.
• Draft and review privacy policies, contracts, and data protection agreements.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest privacy laws and regulations, advising clients on potential impacts.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners in addressing complex privacy and cybersecurity matters.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Knowledge and experience with privacy incident response, compliance counseling, and privacy litigation.
• Strong understanding of privacy regulations, including CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and biometric privacy laws.
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• CIPP/US certification required (if not already certified, candidate must obtain the certification within one year of hire).
• Admission to the State Bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate will be working.
