Associate General Counsel - Health Care/Hospital Transactional Attorney

The candidate will provide legal support for the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) and its components/departments as they relate to UPHS transactional matters, contracts, and corporate services. In particular, this attorney will handle transactions and other complex agreements, including physician practice purchases, joint ventures and other corporate affiliations, as well as the drafting and negotiation of contracts in the innovation and information systems areas. Graduation from a recognized college or university; graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D. degree. Should have 3-7 years of transactional legal experience, health care, innovation or information systems experience preferred. Must be admitted and in good standing in Pennsylvania or another State Bar; admission to Pennsylvania bar is required within one (1) year of appointment. Admission to New Jersey bar is desirable. Demonstrated capability for legal research, analysis and reasoning drafting, impeccable oral and written communication skills, an ability to identify and resolve complicated and sensitive problems creatively and with professional discretion and an ability to interact and function effectively in a clinical, academic and research environment.
