Job Description:

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Follow Terracon safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any unsafe activities or concerns to management.

Be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards on all projects.

Semi-proficient Geophysicist responsible for conducting geophysical surveys and making recommendations for design on smaller projects of minimal complexity.

Geophysical Techniques include

ground penetrating radar (GPR),

time domain electromagnetic induction (TDEMI),

frequency domain electromagnetic induction (FDEMI),

seismic (surface and downhole),

resistivity (tomography and 4 pin),

magnetics, and others.

Will assist Senior Engineer with performing deep foundation testing, including

High Strain Dynamic Load Testing

Low Strain Integrity Testing

Thermal Integrity Profiling

Crosshole Sonic Logging

May assist more senior Geophysicists on large, more complex projects.

Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.

May direct and supervise field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.

May assist developing written proposals and reports to clients for approval by senior level professionals.

May assist in processing, evaluation, and interpreting simple geophysical data and assembling in written reports.

May serve as team member or participate in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.

May oversee work performed by other Technicians.

Drives commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not expected.

Completes paperwork including record keeping, field sketches, detailed notes, and maps of field work legibly and accurately.

Performs periodic basic maintenance on vehicles and geophysical equipment.

The ideal candidate will have some experience collecting and processing geophysicaland/or DFT data using one or more methods.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a physical science preferred.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Minimum ½ to 3 years of experience.
