PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The primary purpose of the Sales Effectiveness Analyst is to inform, validate and guide the U.S. Intermediaries sales strategy by providing data-driven sales insights and best practice recommendations directly to the internal and external sales teams, segment support management and senior leadership in order to maximize operational efficiencies, optimize highest and best use of time in the field or on the phone, and shape successful business plans. An understanding of the financial services marketplace – particularly intermediary channels – in the U.S. is critical to the role. The Sales Effectiveness Analyst will have three principal responsibilities: (1) deliver analysis, reports and critical insights to the USI team to accelerate desired outcomes for internal and external sales people; (2) interpret, translate and provide meaningful and actionable recommendations to our sales teams and sales managers from our internal partners – such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data, Client & Market Insights, and the Investment Product Group data teams and from external third party data resources to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the USI business; and (3) foster strong relationships with key counterparts across marketing and data driven organizations within the firm to ensure that USI is fully leveraging data resources and intelligence as appropriate.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Via an understanding of Product, Marketing, Sales, and Technology, the Sales Effectiveness Analyst will work with counterparts across the organization to develop and deliver reporting and analysis to accelerate USI business goals, drive sales, reduce outflows and increase efficiencies. As a trusted resource that understands how to translate the data in a meaningful and actionable way to sales associates and, at times, sales managers, the incumbent will make recommendations and perform advanced research and analysis that aligns with USI priorities. These insights will inform enhancements to our sales process and resource allocation associated with such efforts.

Consulted on new developments in USI strategy and business processes to model opportunities and target key areas of focus. This role is also responsible for providing insight into monthly and quarterly updates about the business inside of USI as well as develop requirements and maintain accuracy for sales and business reporting with business partners.

Builds strong relationships with key business partners (internally and externally) as well as sales associates to understand evolving objectives, priorities, and competitive landscape and serve as an effective liaison and consultative partner between the sales and data worlds. The incumbent is responsible for identifying and executing improvement efforts and optimizing opportunities that have been underleveraged. The Sales Effectiveness Analyst will represent USI sales associates on significant business intelligence projects that require heavy collaboration and consensus with management across USI Sales, Marketing, and Data teams (i.e. segmentation strategy, sales efficiency tools, campaign development, and other critical programs.) Incumbent will also be responsible for influencing shared service and business partner prioritization in order to ensure USI business needs are being met.

Travel as needed into the field with external sales people as well as industry/role related conferences in order to keep abreast of engagement needs, sales strategy, and the competitive landscape.

Experience and understanding of financial services institutional/intermediary business and sales distribution models

Strong business acumen, drive and organizational savvy Ability to independently manage competing priorities

Demonstrated strong consultative sales expertise and acts as a trusted advisor, coach, data engineer for sales teams

Demonstrated ability to rebound quickly from difficult situations/ resilient

Strong drive for results. Demonstrated ability to take the initiative in applying creative strategies to increase and influence NNFs for the organization.

Comfortable interacting with clients in multiple venues (face to face, phone, etc.)

Excellent organizational and decision-making skills

Intellectual curiousity and high EQ

Team player

Willing to travel

College degree plus 3-4 years of related work experience or a minimum of 6 years related work experience.

Thorough knowledge of intermediary space and T. Rowe Price investment products

Strong sales, service, and relationship management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong relationship building and influencing skills

Analytical bent
