The WSBA’s mission is to serve the public and the members of the Bar, to ensure the integrity of the legal profession, and to champion justice.
The Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) operates under the delegated authority of the Washington Supreme Court to license the state’s nearly 40,000 lawyers and other legal professionals. In furtherance of its obligation to protect and serve the public, the WSBA both regulates lawyers and other legal professionals and serves its members as a professional association—all without public funding.
Our mission focus brings us into contact with a wide variety of people – members, stakeholders and the public - accessing the WSBA and its services for everything from requests about licensed legal professionals and the legal system, questions or complaints against lawyers, continuing legal education, attorney licensing and much more. The WSBA is dedicated to serving all of these needs in a professional and respectful manner. With a growing membership of just over 40,000, the WSBA is at the crossroads of many exciting new initiatives. Central to this effort is the Advancement Department, striving to advance the profession through education, community, and service toward a more accessible and equitable justice system.
