The HR Specialist serves as a key part in enabling the success of the Supply Chain Warehouse team in terms of being a primary HR business partner for the Supply Chain Building Leaders. The HR Specialist is responsible for headcount planning and acquisition, employee relations consultation and coaching, and overall HR administration within the facility. The HR Specialist will work under the leadership of the LHRM to ensure consistent application of policy, legal compliance and maximizes talent to meet the needs of the building. This person will also partner closely with building leaders to identify risks in the building while promoting an efficient, effective and safe culture.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership Support
Support HR Manager and building leadership in key responsibility areas: Employee Relations, Compensation, Staffing, Payroll & Benefits, Organizational Development
Special focus on supporting building leadership by driving processes to appropriately identify and fill hourly hiring needs
Act as a trusted advisor to building leadership to ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of company/HR policies and procedures
Take ownership of implementing and following up on solutions as a result of identifying issues
Provide coaching and counseling to employees to resolve performance issues in partnership with leadership
Lead communication of the HR policies
Employee Relations
Mediate disputes/issues between managers and employees to bring issues to resolution
Consult with managers on proper use of progressive discipline and termination procedures to minimize legal risk to company
Perform thorough investigation of issues as appropriate
Administrative and Technical Support
The administration of the Payroll and Timekeeping function
Maintenance of employee records and the HR management system
Facilitating employee benefit management and communication
Maintaining the Safety and Worker's Compensation programs
Policy Administration
Ensure compliance of employment law to include ADA, FMLA, Harassment, EEO, NRLB, and state-specific labor laws
Administer and interpret company policies and procedures
Review and make recommendations to modify company policies to ensure compliance with the law
Recruitment
Hourly and exempt-level recruitment to ensure high quality hires to meet the company goals and objectives
Partner with leaders to build and maintain community reputation and determine recruiting strategies through job fairs, college career fairs, community events, etc.
Conduct screening interviews and make hiring recommendations to managers
Manage recruitment and onboarding process to include leveraging a 3rd party workforce
Basic Qualifications
3 years Human Resources experience
Preferred Qualifications
1 years of experience partnering with all levels of individuals, organizational agility, comfort level, and professionalism
2 or 4 year degree
