We are looking for a Photo Editor to exclusively support Content Solutions.
Responsibilities:
Produce photography projects and visual formats by partnering with photographers, editors, designers and product managers to deliver high quality content for Demand Media’s external clients.
Assist with producing custom photo assignments, including budgeting, production and curating final assets.
Recruit and pitch new photographers for assignments and projects.
Work closely with external publishers to create and develop slide shows, listicles and social formats following different editorial calendars.
Participate in the pre-sale process including ideation and brainstorming visual formats to fit cohesively into larger campaigns.
Complete all tasks as assigned by the photography and editorial staffs.
Collaborate with the internal photography department and studio team to streamline production and delivery of projects.
Work cross departmentally with Content Solutions and Studio Product Team.
Assist with the management of online photography freelance community and assignment workflow.
Provide critical feedback to photographers on custom assignments.
Research and curate stock photography on deadline.
Edit visual and social content to ensure consistent quality, style and voice.
Work extensively with content management systems and interactive tools.
Requirements:
4-5 years experience working in photography, including photo editing, art buying, retouching and photo shoot production.
Expert knowledge of relevant software (Photoshop, Bridge, Excel, Word, PPT).
Experience in an editorial, marketing, agency and/or interactive environment, with strong editing and producing background.
Experience in brainstorming and executing visual content for major brands.
Experience working with freelance photographers, making assignments and providing feedback.
Experience speaking to clients and collaborating with them on creative, deadline driven projects.
Ability to successfully juggle several projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Efficiency, accuracy, strong organizational skills, dependability and a keen eye for detail and quality.
Understanding of social media and journalism and how it fits into the evolving paradigms of the Web.
Proven experience working with a content management system.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts or related field.
