The Opportunity
WSF is currently seeking a senior lead electrical engineer /inspector for the terminal engineering group. This position provides designs of electrical and control systems in support of terminal engineering projects, and electrical support for construction projects. This position also conducts electrical inspections of terminal facilities and prepares detailed comprehensive reports of findings.
What to Expect
This position performs design work and manages consultant electrical engineers. Possesses in depth knowledge of ferry terminal electrical systems and serves as in-house subject matter expert. As a registered professional engineer, performs professional engineering work which constitutes the practice of engineering as defined by RCW 18.43
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you/the Senior Electrical Engineer will:
Work as a project engineer for movable bridges and electrical engineering duties throughout the WSF; perform quality assurance reviews for ferry terminal and movable bridge projects. Perform detailed electrical and control system designs of movable bridges, and other fixed bridges as they attach to movable bridges. Receive and implement engineering direction from department supervisor. Supervise consultant engineers for projects and department administration. Provide detailed technical direction for the preparation of Contract documents. Develop drawings and design details for ferry terminal electrical systems. Utilize electrical engineering software and write design worksheets utilizing spreadsheet software. Inspect existing terminals and determine need for repairs and maintenance. Prepare reports summarizing facility conditions and recommending necessary work. Review and approve contractor shop drawings and other contractor submittals.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required
Bachelor’s degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Registration as a Profession Engineer, Electrical in the State of Washington Valid Driver’s License
It is preferred
that qualified candidates also have:
Working knowledge of control system, power distribution system, and lighting system design Working knowledge of NEC requirements
