Corporate Counsel
The candidate will provides in-house legal services to OSF corporations and operating units. Reviews contracts and other legal documents which are presented for execution or approval. In conjunction with the Senior Vice president/Chief Legal officer monitor and analyze ongoing legal climate to ensure continued organization compliance across all OSF entities. Review programs, contracts and proposals for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, legal provisions of firm financing documents, firm Bylaws, and firm policies and practices. Completion of Juris Doctor of Laws from a duly accredited law school are required. License to practice law in the State of Illinois, eligibility to take Illinois bar exam, or other eligibility for Illinois license (e.g. reciprocity) are required. 3 years' experience in the practice of health care law are required. Possess or acquire working knowledge of health care law, including general principles of Medicare reimbursement programs, anti-fraud statutes and programs including the Medicare Fraud and Abuse (Anti-Kickback) Statute, Stark Rules, False Claims Act, and Civil Monetary Penalty Act are required. Possess or acquire working knowledge of federal and state tax law, real estate law, tort law, and contract law as those areas relate to health care law are required. Possess or acquire familiarity with provisions of the relevant state and federal healthcare statutes, rules and regulations and will be expected to acquire working knowledge of its provisions which are relevant to OSF, including knowledge of existing and future implementing regulations and court decisions are required.
