Employee Benefits Staff Attorney
The ideal candidate will have a year or more years of relevant experience with ERISA and qualified retirement plans and/or health and welfare plans. Experience with non-qualified deferred compensation plans and executive compensation would be a plus. We are seeking a candidate with ERISA experience but will also consider an attorney without employee benefits experience who is eager to gain knowledge and learn new skills. Drafting plan documents and employee communications, overseeing plan governance and compliance and negotiating agreements with third-party administrators, providers and vendors. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, demonstrate strong writing and communication skills and be licensed (or willing and able to become licensed) and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan.
