This role primarily involves second chair work on various employment cases, requiring in-depth legal research, communication with clients, drafting legal documents, managing caseloads, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court proceedings. The Senior Associate Attorney will also provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates, paralegals, and support staff to foster professional development.

Duties:

• Primarily second chair work on a variety of employment cases, supporting the firm's efforts in prosecuting civil rights cases.
• Conduct thorough legal research to analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities relevant to each case.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, answer legal questions, and address concerns.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, federal and state complaints, and legal memoranda.
• Assist in managing caseloads by organizing and maintaining case files, calendars, and deadlines.
• Prepare and conduct depositions, including questioning witnesses and gathering evidence.
• Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and conducting document reviews.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates, paralegals, and support staff, and assist in professional development, review work, and delegate assignments.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of litigation or clerkship experience.
• Civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated interest and skill in legal writing, research, and analysis.
• Ability to speak clearly, effectively, and persuasively.
• Commitment to advocating on behalf of those who have been deprived of their legal rights on the job.
• Experience conducting, defending, and preparing for depositions.
• Admitted to the New York Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
