Human Resources Investigations Manager
The candidate will conduct reviews and investigations into complaints filed pursuant to firm’s Policy Prohibiting Discrimination in the Workplace (related to harassment and discrimination based on a protected class status); to conduct reviews and investigations into complaints filed pursuant to firm’s Disruptive Behavior and Workplace Violence Policy; and to conduct reviews and investigations into other employee misbehavior/conduct matters. Conducts thorough, timely and efficient investigations. Consults with the AVP of Employee Equity and Labor Relations on any relevant matters pertaining to HR-related investigations. Assists the AVP of Employee Equity and Labor Relations with managing the responsibilities associated with conducting HR-related investigations. Develops and executes an investigation plan for each assigned matter, including contacting all involved parties and providing them with information about the investigatory process. Conducts intake meetings, interviews complainants/respondents/potential witnesses, and collects all relevant evidence. Provides timely follow-up and updates to the complainant and respondent. Gathers, secures and maintains relevant documentation pertaining to assigned investigations. Keeps accurate and thorough records and notes of investigatory process. Writes comprehensive, articulate, and well-written summaries, analysis of data, and reports. Continuously identifies and integrates best practices in the investigation arena and advise administrators accordingly on ways to enhance current processes. Other associated duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree required in related field (e.g. psychology, law and justice, sociology). Must have 3+ years of experience in conducting confidential and sensitive investigations. Should have excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of legal issues and situational complexities surrounding EEO guidance is essential. Occupational investigatory and Equal Opportunity experience highly preferred. Law Degree or Master’s in a related field is a plus. Should preferably have experience in conducting investigations in a large, diverse organization and/or a university environment. Higher education or public experience helpful.
