Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Corporate/Employment Counsel to join its team in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm and demonstrate expertise in advising on a wide range of employment-related matters. This role requires excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, superior organizational abilities, and a client-focused work ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on employment-related compliance issues, including worker classification, wage and hour regulations, immigration, unions, collective bargaining, and equal opportunity laws.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants.
  • Guide reductions-in-force and WARN Act compliance.
  • Conducted due diligence and handled employment-related representations and covenants in transaction documents.
  • Assist in developing and updating employment policies and handbooks.
  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to address and resolve employment law issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Proven expertise in advising on employment-related compliance, drafting agreements, and handling employment law matters.
  • Membership is in good standing with the CA Bar or eligibility to waive.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to waive in.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Superior organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong client and team-focused work ethic.
  • Ability to handle complex employment law issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing employment-related documents.
