Description

The Director, Rapid Learning designs, executes, and measures the results of large scale experiments. The Director, Behavioral Economics requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Responsibilities

Rapid Learning is the next stage of Test and Learns at Humana. It is a deliberate testing process that will bring more speed, rigor, and nuance to the design, evaluation, and scaling of new programs and initiatives. Rapid Learning involves a phased approach, composed of past learnings, clinical insights, operational metrics, leading indicators, and testing parameters tailored to each test and dependent on each decision. Together, these components enable faster insights on program efficacy, allowing informed decisions to walk away sooner from those unlikely to have a favorable impact and focus on the ones that are most promising.

This role is an opportunity to help lead an industry change toward decisions based on results from rigorously designed experiments, leading the enterprise through thoughtfully constructed, time sensitive, and practical experimental designs. Designing nuanced and relevant evaluations of Humana's programs is critical to Humana's strategy, enabling us to achieve sustainable health care improvements

This opportunity is aligned to the Behavioral Economics team within Clinical Analytics and Trend, focusing on applying rigor and discipline to projects across the enterprise within practical timelines.

The Director of Rapid Learning is accountable for

Prioritizing programs to go through the Rapid Learning process and leading the team through the work

Creating and managing management team and leadership updates and strategic planning of the future waves of the work as it progresses

Identifying the value of the initiative

Working with the Behavioral Economics leader to move the Rapid Learning strategic plan forward to nudge the enterprise forward in experimentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

5 years of experience in a consulting or strategic role, e.g., management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic consulting, investment banking, economics, finance, business planning, and/or equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, driving change in a large company)

3 years in a role working directly with data and analytics

Experience leading and interpreting rigorous experiments in real-world settings

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

Ability to influence high-level executives through presentations and leadership updates

Ability to cultivate, establish, and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on testing, learning, and iterating

Strong business acumen with ability to tie outcomes to business goals

If progressed to offer, you will be required to:

Provide proof of full vaccination OR

Commit to weekly testing, following all CDC protocols, OR

Provide documentation for a medical or religious exemption consideration.

This policy will not supersede state or local laws. Requests for these exemptions should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled first day of work.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in social science (ex: economics, behavioral economics, psychology), health policy, or statistics

Background in healthcare, including a clinical background

Experience problem solving and consulting within complex environments

Expert in member needs and driving initiatives with a 'member first' mindset

Facilitating cross-functional teams' efforts

Collaborative and goal-focused

Open-minded in working differently

Human Centered Design Experience

Collaborative and can shift quickly

Sees possibilities vs. barriers

Program or Project Management Experience
