The candidate will represent the People of the State of New York in appellate litigation on a wide range of constitutional and statutory law issues. Address complex legal issues clearly and effectively in oral and written format. Brief and argue a substantial caseload of appeals before the state and federal courts. All other duties as assigned. Should have Juris Doctorate degree. Should have 3+ years of appellate attorney experience or the equivalent. Strong writing, research, and analytical skills are needed. Should have the ability to work independently and effectively under deadlines. Must understand and respond clearly and effectively (oral/written) to complex legal issues. Should have the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed. Excellent presentation and organizational skills are needed. Should have the ability to exercise good judgment and strong ethics. Should have the ability to analytically solve issues or problems from inception through conclusion.
