Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cyber, Privacy, and Data Associate Attorney to join its fast-growing and internationally recognized cybersecurity and incident response practice in Austin, TX. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising and representing clients on all aspects of cybersecurity and incident response matters, helping clients navigate the complex and ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats and data protection regulations.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on cybersecurity and incident response matters, including data breaches, privacy issues, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive strategies for clients facing cyber threats and data security challenges.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies related to data protection, cybersecurity, and privacy.
  • Conduct legal research analysis and stay updated on cybersecurity laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings related to cybersecurity incidents, including litigation and regulatory investigations.
  • Offer guidance on breach notification requirements and response strategies.
  • Assist in developing and delivering cybersecurity awareness and training programs for clients.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of legal experience in cybersecurity and incident response.
  • Strong academic credentials, including a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Membership in the State Bar of Texas is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and incident response is required.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, creative, and a team player.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership to the State Bar of Texas (strongly preferred).

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Cybersecurity and incident response expertise.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Client representation and advocacy.
  • Data protection and privacy knowledge.
