Our team works on-site 9x80 schedule located at our REC facility with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

The employee is expected to develop tools and capabilities in support of modeling, simulating, and visualizing critical infrastructure and how these assets may inter-relate. The employee will leverage computer languages, statistical analysis, and machine-learning as needed to solve complex critical infrastructure challenges. They will work with senior staff to help develop requirements, produce and test designs or test plans, and provide necessary documentation to modify, enhance, or create enhanced models and simulations of infrastructure systems. They will apply techniques that show infrastructure systems and associated events over a period of time, allow feedback of operator responses into real-time control functions to improve realism by coordinating multi-sensor operator inputs, or incorporate real-time evaluation of operator performance. The employee is expected to define system specifications, prepare project time and cost estimates, design, analyze, test, modify document, and maintain complex models or simulation-based systems.

The Employee will work with an experienced team to provide reviews of requirements, designs, visualization options, codes and documentation. They will participate in the development of new capabilities and products. They will set and implement high standards for safety, security, environmental compliance, and Mission Delivery, and be responsible for successful project/program execution consistent with INL’s standards and procedures to identify and mitigate risk (cost, schedule and quality). This individual will cultivate new concept development and provide technical interface with numerous customers for INL programs. Maintains and enhances cognizance and reputation in chosen technical field.

Minimum Requirements:

PR0100; Baccalaureate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

PR0200; Baccalaureate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent and 2 years of experience

Demonstrated experience developing software tools and an ability to apply these skills in the support of modeling and simulating critical infrastructure.

Individuals must have a working knowledge of and experience with the following software and tool development approaches and practices:

Demonstrated experience developing software in C /C and Python.

Demonstrated experience developing software in Linux environments.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, and SCI, which requires US Citizenship.

Special preference given to the following:

Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) communications systems and 5G technologies

Experience with Electronic Warfare Modeling and Simulation

Job Information

Salary Grade: PR0100 - 200 ($81,288 - $134,100) or PR0200 - 210 ($93,492 - $154,212)
