Elder Law Attorney
The candidate will represent clients regarding housing, estate planning, guardianship, consumer law matters, public benefits, elder needs, and financial matters. Work in tandem with other professionals to ensure services are provided for aged and/or disabled individuals. Make referrals to appropriate alternative or additional sources of assistance. Advise clients about personal and health care rights, often collaborating with health care providers, insurance providers, and financial planners to ensure that the rights of the client are preserved. Provide financial representation through financial planning, housing planning, estate, and income and gift tax matters. Prepare and develop a working knowledge of all estate planning documents including Last Wills and Testaments, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Deeds, Realty Trusts, Change of Beneficiary Forms, etc.. Participate in client development, creation of marketing/educational materials, and building opportunities for growth and improvement of the firm. Coordinate with other team members, including attorneys, paralegals, and staff members. Effectively organize and monitor client files. Should have 3-4 years job experience as an attorney with elder law and/or estate planning experience.
