Contract Administrator
Duties: Collaborates with and guides internal and external stakeholders on routine contracts and special transactional projects for the Legal Department. Supports the NuStar contracts management system (CLM) by running reports, data management and analysis. Performs complex administrative assignments for the Legal Department. Under the direct supervision of an attorney, facilitates the contracts due diligence process and the preparation, negotiation, and execution of template contracts, involving internal business units as necessary. Stores, maintains, and administers contracts after execution through NuStar’s contracts management system. Assists with evaluating and/or monitoring contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance against contractual obligations. Acts as a liaison between various NuStar departments and the Legal Department, promptly providing information and direction as requested. Analyzes data and prepares reports from CLM for companywide dissemination, including ongoing and ad hoc reports for various departments and Legal Management. Assists with financial and budget management. oAdvises on the Legal team’s budget to monitor budget constraints and actual performance against budgets and forecasts. Assists with management of outside counsel. oPerforms the administrative support of outside counsel and legal vendors to optimize efficiency and help to reduce overall spend. Departmental support (Litigation, Commercial Law, and Environmental, Permitting and Regulatory Law) as needed. Provides technology support as needed. CLM, including the development of data and legal analytics tools. Budgeting tools and Legal Tracker. Updating and automating templates. Assists with updating and management of content on the Legal department’s intranet site. Professional capability and resource management. Assists Legal team members with preparing for trainings with internal stakeholders on relevant legal and compliance policies, processes and systems. Exhibits a professional and positive attitude toward coworkers and clients at all times. Composes correspondence, memoranda and reports.
