Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) National Security Test Range group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Vulnerability Assessment Analyst and Test Range Operations Specialist.

Our team works on-site with a 4x10 schedule located at our REC and National Security Test Range facility with every Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

This position supports explosive blast analysis for Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and R&D testing and training operations at the National Security Test Range. It requires an understanding and experience in firearm operations and training, explosive and breaching operations, mechanical material handling, material handling, mechanical skills, safety procedures & processes and training. This work requires a working knowledge of Explosive Blast Effects and other VA software to calculate damage to facilities and personnel with explosives and weapons for significant input to the INL Safeguard's & Security Site Plan. It also includes the ability to work at the National Security Test Range (NSTR) under direct supervision of a PI, Lab Manager and Explosives Use Supervisor and work well with a DoD, DOE, and other US Government customers.

Specific responsibilities include:

Operating various mechanical and material handling equipment.

Overseeing and conducting firearms operations.

Conducting various NSTR target installation, setup and construction activities.

Supporting breaching and explosives operations.

Authoring significant input to the INL Safeguards and Security Site Plan.

Performing Vulnerability Assessment blast effects calculations, damage assessments, and force multiplier calculations.

Making critical decisions during Force on Force exercises for explosive blast and weapons effects.

Oversee subcontractor NSTR related work.

Follow all environmental, safety and security policies, and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and teammates of various backgrounds and responsibilities.

Provide technical input in research and development projects that contribute to providing new and/or improved systems, procedures.

Have a safety and security mindset.

Minimum Requirements:

PR0200: Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma and 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Safety related training and experience.

DOE Q level security clearance.

Experience in mechanical material handling.

Extensive construction and mechanical experience.

Vulnerability Assessment and/or security performance testing experience.

Knowledge of Blast Effects software for effects on facilities and personnel.

Knowledge of DOE and INL safety policy and procedures.

Knowledge of DOE and INL security policy and procedures.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information

PR0200 Salary Grade 190 ($70,680 - $116,616).
