ADP is hiring a Head of Legal Operations

We are hiring a Head of Legal Operations to develop and oversee ADP's Legal Operations function. The role will drive strategic planning and execution of key ADP Legal Department initiatives that increase operational efficiencies, including implementation of policies, processes, and technologies to enhance the value and productivity of the ADP Legal Department. The ideal candidate must be client service-focused, detail-oriented and have the diplomatic presence to collaborate with multiple ADP stakeholders and legal professionals.

This role will be based in Roseland, NJ, Alpharetta, GA or Miami, FL working in in a hybrid work environment working in the office 3 days a week and the flexibility of working from home 2 days a week.

Strategic and Operational Planning and Reporting


Develop and support ADP Legal Department strategic planning process
Manage Department strategic plans and initiatives to increase high-value impact, efficiency, productivity, and responsiveness of the ADP Legal Department
Create metrics and monitor progress to measure success against Department strategic initiatives
Identify, collect, and report on key performance indicators and productivity metrics on a global basis
Identify and track relevant external benchmarks for managing in-house legal departments
Manage the Legal Department's internal Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey process and NPS action plan
Perform / manage special projects and responsibilities assigned by the Chief Legal Officer
Directly manage two Legal administrative partners


Legal Information and Process Technology


Formulate the technology strategy for the Legal Department
Identify, implement, maintain, and optimize technologies used by the Legal Department, including matter management, knowledge management, e-billing, e-discovery, and e-signature tools
Perform day-to-day operational support for updates, enhancements, troubleshooting, system access, vendor support for Legal Department technologies
Process and track updates and enhancements to technologies and tools to ensure proper implementation


Communications and Department Administration


Develop and implement the ADP Legal Department's strategic communications plan and processes, and measure effectiveness and relevance of Department communications
Oversee management of Legal Department specific policies and procedures
Organize and manage Department and Legal Senior Leadership Team meetings
Assess, develop, and manage support model for Legal Department administrative staff
Partner with HR to support the Legal Senior Leadership Team on HR processes and key talent initiatives


Finance and Budget Management


Partner with Finance to develop and manage the Legal annual operating plan and all department budgets
Assist with the planning, forecasting and management of all categories of Department spend, including headcount, contingent workers, and outside firms and vendors
Work as primary interface between the Legal Department and Finance


Training, Knowledge Management and Professional Development


Identify and implement training and professional development opportunities
Manage internal CLE program
Develop and manage new hire onboarding processes
Oversee development and implementation of department policies and procedures
Support the creation of self-help tools for business and functional stakeholders
Develop and maintain internal knowledge management practices


Outside Counsel and Firm / Vendor Management


Develop and manage tracking and reporting of ADP's law firms and other outside vendors
Manage ADP Legal Department's law firm engagement and vendor assurance processes
Support ADP Legal Department's DE&I Committee on law firm reporting of DE&I metrics
Manage ADP's processes for reviewing law firm conflict waiver requests

Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree required preferably in Business, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and professional experience; MBA or JD preferred
8 years of work experience in legal operations
Experience working with senior executives
Executive management experience and proven track record of making an impact, developing, and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short term and long term
Demonstrable experience working with alternative legal service providers preferred
Technology-savvy; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Expertise with Legal Operations technologies, including for intake, contract management and review, matter management and e-billing
Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization
Proactive approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues
Demonstrated track record of influencing senior level stakeholders (both internal and external)
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong ability to communicate concisely with and align a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and key external stakeholders
Well organized, able to prioritize well, works efficiently and shows flexibility as workloads fluctuate
Consummate team player with excellent judgment
Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions
Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage major projects to successful completion
Demonstrated project management skills
Some travel may be required
