In your role, you will:

- Adhere to General Work Requirements

- Coordinate surface freight, air freight, and vessel shipments to and from vendors, customer and company locations in a timely and cost-effective manner, including delivery of structural pieces, and the return of structural fixtures or crates

- Determine the most cost effective methods of preparation of freight for shipment, rates to be applied, and mode of transportation to be used

- Assist with questions for customs clearance on import shipments for all BFTC (i.e. verify tariff classification [HTSUS], full and repair value, function, country of origin, and obtain Affidavits of Manufacture)

- Provide a monthly shipping report to BFTC management

- Classify and assign HTSUS Codes to all Bombardier parts

- Select mode of transportation, such as air, water, railroad, or truck, using discretion to disregard higher rates when speed is necessary

- Package, weigh, and label materials including hazardous materials for shipping

- Reconcile accompanying documents with actual parts and materials received into Receiving

- Obtain dangerous goods shipping (DOT/IATA) certification

- Maintain ground support equipment spare parts inventory

- Maintain downtime Bill of Material (BOM) shortages to minimal level

- Schedule weekly ground support equipment service inspections

- Track the status of existing tooling and ground support equipment located at BFTC

- Preserve the current library of equipment documentation for GSE and tooling

- Monitor the status of all BFTC owned GSE

- Perform minor maintenance and repair of existing GSE and tooling

- Maintain GSE and tool database

- Track and monitor all repair and calibration requisitions for tooling and GSE sent to vendor(s)

- Serve as focal for Supervision, Engineering, Methods, Planning and Aircraft Support personnel for available tooling and GSE

- Assist in management of GSE spare parts inventory

- Coordinate proper maintenance of powered vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS

As our ideal candidate,

- You have 1-3 years traffic, customs or supply chain experience OR

- You have an Associate's degree in related field

- You have computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications

- You have the ability to pay attention to detail and analyze for cost savings measures

- You have the ability to work independently as needed

- You have 4 years experience in ground support equipment maintenance and repair (preferred)

- Previous experience with traffic analysis, operations, domestic transportation and import/export issues with compliance strongly (preferred)

- You have previous SAP, CAS or Legacy experience (preferred)

- You have part classification training, ability to read blueprints and basic engineering documents (preferred)

- You have previous experience in reconciliation of high dollar accounts and cost analysis (preferred)
