Chief Investment Officer
The candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer, the firm, and directly supervises the firm Investment Team including the Senior Director of Portfolio Strategy, Director of Equity Research, Senior Portfolio Manager(s), and Portfolio Manager/Trader(s). Hire, mentor, and manage a team of investment professionals. Design and direct a top-down asset allocation and bottoms up stock and bond selection process guided by client risk/return objectives and in a manner that is consistent with each account’s Investment Policy Statements (IPSs). Create, communicate, and execute the investment group’s target global themes and asset class views, sector and security views and formulate recommendations to individual portfolios. Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory obligations and industry best practices. Develop and direct a rigorous investment process and procedures, establishing strategies for benchmarking and delivering against performance goals. Lead the Investment Committee meetings and provide in-depth analysis and recommendations for the committee’s review. Deliver or conduct account performance and market review discussions in client meetings and contribute to new business meetings as needed. Lead and assist the work of the Portfolio Managers and other investment team members via inclusive, respectful, and thoughtful investment idea discussions that contribute to actionable ideas and solid results. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree is preferred. Should have 15-20 years of investment experience and a demonstrable track record of leading a team in investing taxable and tax-exempt funds across multiple asset classes. Prior experience working with High-Net-Worth clients is required. Direct experience and comfort with PM/Order entry systems, financial systems, and tools for analysis (FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar, etc.) is required. CFA Certification is required.
