Compliance Specialist
The candidate will be conducting due diligence investigations of domestic and international advisers, business partners, offset suppliers, and buyers under the direction of the International Compliance Manager. Analyzing the results of due diligence investigations and resolving compliance concerns as necessary to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures. Drafting due diligence approval memoranda. Reviewing and approving international travel request forms to safeguard the Company against unauthorized transfers of export-controlled data, defense services, and/or company owned devices, documents, or hardware. Reviewing documents prior to release to foreign persons to ensure the type of data transmitted is categorized properly and recorded as required by Company policies and procedures. Assisting the International Compliance Manager with processing Part 130 and domestic adviser payments. Assisting the International Compliance Manager with maintaining a log of due diligence requests and tracking metrics for the International Compliance function. Performing other duties as assigned, such as conducting legal research assignments. Should have a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience working in an international compliance or export role. Understanding of business lifecycles, including business development, contracts, and supply chain requirements. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level and to interact at all levels of the Company. Ability to analyze multiple sources, identify issues, eliminate irrelevant information, and develop a succinct recommendation. Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively. Juris Doctor strongly preferred.
