To maintain proper operation of equipment used in the production process throughout the Madison facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure adherence to all quality systems including, but not limited to, ISO 9001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of DuPont’s Quality Policy and procedures.
Comply with all Company policies including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance.
Maintains and repairs building and building equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to HVAC, refrigeration, compressors, condensers, cooling towers, Freeze Dryers, pumps and mechanical equipment.
Conducts routine maintenance checks, installs equipment, diagnoses problems and repairs equipment. These activities may require electrical work, plumbing and soldering/brazing.
Performs general and preventive maintenance
Estimate, order, pick up and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition.
Maintains accurate written and computer-generated records, completes written work orders, maintains records of purchases and refrigerant usage/ storage logs.
Advises staff on routine maintenance of equipment
Leads site efforts on scheduling of refrigeration repairs and working with outside contractors as necessary to return production equipment to service after successful repairs are complete.
Follows all Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
Responsible for adherence to all quality systems including, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and Food Safety with an understanding of DuPont’s Quality Policy and procedures

Should possess a technical degree and/or additional mechanical training or work experience, a successful work history, the ability to work as a team player, and proven mechanical ability
5 years Industrial Refrigeration experience required
Current state of Wisconsin Journeyman Refrigeration Technician
Must have the ability to work in a self-directed environment and as a team player
Must have the ability to perform and detect problems in the building and equipment as well as operate and/or utilize tools used in the maintenance process as required
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using percentages and decimals to utilize the Metric/English system for measurement.
Must be able to read, comprehend and follow oral and written procedures and instructions
Must be able to perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job in a safe and efficient manner.
EPA Universal certification to work on large Industrial A/C systems required.
Ability to test system operation using gauge sets and instruments.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical testing equipment.
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
Cut, bend, thread and connect pipe to functional components and water, power or refrigeration systems.
Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant.
Install/replace compressors, condensers and other components in specified locations.
Experience with cooling towers, roof top air handling units, exhaust fans and heat exchangers is preferred.
Experience with Johnson Controls, Delta, Allerton and Andover systems also preferred.
This position operates in temperatures ranging from forty degrees (40) to one hundred degrees ( 100) Fahrenheit. Conditions may be humid, wet, slippery and dusty. The work requires that employees be able to maintain a high level of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and safety, must use personal protective equipment as determined by environmental hygiene assessment survey. Work environments may involve safe handling of potentially hazardous chemicals.
The incumbent occupying this position should have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a safe and efficient manner. Should be able to lift, or carry up to fifty (55) pounds. Climb ladders and stairs, and move throughout the plant.
