Position: Technical Manager (Ref: 1523)

Duties: Responsible for designing, developing and implementing technical solutions for integrating, analyzing and reporting clinical data by utilizing experience with drug development process, clinical trial methodology, statistics and global regulatory requirements such as Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) standards, electronic data package submissions, and Summaries of Clinical Safety and Efficacy; statistical programming and development of computing strategies for statistical analysis and reporting within pharmaceutical industry; SAS software, R, and general computing techniques, including experience with UNIX operating system; and authoring of analysis specifications. Draw on experience with identification of challenges, inefficiencies or downstream impacts, identifying solutions, engagement of appropriate stakeholders, garnering of management support, and implementation of a roll out plan (i.e. procedural documents, training materials, and training) to minimize risk and maximize quality during a program/project as well as represent Global Biometric Science (GBS) positively through effective stakeholder and study team engagement. Ensure quality of Global Biometric Sciences (GBS) deliverables by applying analysis and reporting standards, and driving compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate and departmental Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and work practices. Provide comprehensive programming leadership and support to clinical project teams, including deployment of programming strategies, standards, specifications, and programmed analysis. Drive the development and implementation of innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming. Provide technical guidance to vendors around project standards, programming conventions/specifications and programming practices to ensure efficient and integrated project computing strategies. Review planning documents such as statistical analysis plans, data presentation plans, and data review plans to ensure alignment with development team objectives. These reviews focus on clarity, integrity and completeness of programming assumptions and requirements, and ensure compliance with standards. Develop unambiguous and robust programming specifications for internal and external programming work. Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain complex programs and utilities in accordance with predefined specifications and BMS standards. Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and consistency within GBS and provide leadership and support to improvement initiatives. Provide expertise to development teams with regard to driving standardization and formulating solutions to complex issue. Serves as a point of escalation for technical, operational and/or staffing issues which are unable to be resolved at the team level. Model partnership with internal GBS and external stakeholders and provide leadership to Statistical Programmers for stakeholder management and transparent communication to ensure effective partnerships within development teams. May telecommute from home 2 days per week.
Requirements: Master of Science degree in Anatomical Science & Neurobiology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field plus 6 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above.
In lieu of Master of Science degree in Anatomical Science & Neurobiology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field plus 6 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above, the employer will accept a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomical Science & Neurobiology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field plus 10 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above.
