Assistant/Associate General Counsel
Duties: Ensure that the National Office conducts its business in compliance with all applicable laws, standards, and practices, including federal and state campaign finance laws, lobbying disclosure requirements, gift and ethics rules, and tax laws governing exempt organizations, including, specifically, the operation of affiliated 501©(3), 501©(4), and 527 organizations. Provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters and on legal implications of non-legal matters. Serve as legal advisor on the National Office’s major transactions and programs, including contract negotiation and review. Participate in defining, assessing, and/or developing corporate policies, procedures, and/or programs . Assist in selecting, retaining, managing, and overseeing outside counsel, as necessary to support the National Office’s programmatic and operational needs. Provide advice on other matters requested by the General Counsel.
