Adjunct, Sociology and Criminal Justice
The candidate will staff a variety of courses each semester in the fields of Sociology and Criminal Justice. May instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening and may include: Introduction to Sociology; Social Problems; Juvenile Justice; Social Deviance; Sociological Theory and Other courses as they become available. Teaching of a specified course. Preparation of course materials. Providing support and guidance to students. Grade reporting. May be expected to teach a specified online course. Cooperating with course coordinators or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program. Must have Master’s Degree in Sociology or Criminal Justice or closely related majors and/or a Juris Doctorate. (In some cases, individuals with a Bachelor’s Degree and extensive experience as a practitioner may qualify.). Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD or PhD in Sociology or Criminal Justice, previous teaching experience, and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
