About the Team:
The Internet Measurement Platform (IMP) team is responsible for developing and maintaining a set of systems and APIs that collect various internet measurements in a consistent and meaningful way. The platforms can run on different devices, including servers in the cloud, CPE devices, web browsers, and any incorporated and onboarded device. The team currently manages three different Measurement Platforms: the Internet Measurement Platform API for measuring bandwidth between a customer's gateway and Comcast's network, the Web Platform for measuring bandwidth between a customer's end device and Comcast's network, and the Probe Platform for running automated test cycles for new products and trials.
Core Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a wide range of difficult applications, problems or procedures.
Supports Lead Engineer with the architecture, design, development, qualification and deployment of applications consistent with product and technical roadmaps.
Works with engineering project management and lead engineer to deliver applications that meet or exceed product requirements, project schedules and reliability.
Assists product development and operations teams to define technical requirements to accompany existing products and operation requirements. Designs and develops use cases in support of the technical requirements. Transforms technical requirements into architectures.
Determines resources, technology and course of action to achieve results.
Provides leadership and consultative direction to the organization, department and group.
Skills & Experience We're Looking For:
Hands on API manual and automation experience with REST APIs (gRPC API is plus)Experience with using ELK Stack and Splunk
Experience working in a Linux environment, administration ability is a plus
Experience in using test management tools - ALM Octane
Experience in project management tools (i.e., Rally, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Experience working in a CI/CD environment, Concourse is a plus
Experience with Message broking services like Kafka, Kinesis is a plus
Experience with Databases like Couchbase, MySQL
Experience with Shell Scripting languages is a plus
Experience in programming with Java, using Maven for build management
Domain Specific Skills for IMP:
Has a basic networking knowledge (DOCSIS, EPON, OSI network layers, TCP/IP, Firewalls, traffic shaping, and load balancing)
Has a good understanding of the RDKB devices
Experience to Cable/Telecom domain is a plus
