Amgen is searching for a Director Sourcing, Planning & Analytics. This Director is based out of the Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, FL. and will report to the Tampa site head and also works closely with the Thousand Oaks-based Head of Global Strategic Sourcing. Key responsibilities for the Director include:
Develop long-term roadmap and continue transformation that is underway to improve Amgen’s end-to-end Source-to-Pay (“S2P”) process
Oversee service delivery for Global S2P to include dotted-line leadership of Global Sourcing Excellence (Source-to-Contract) and solid-line leadership of Global Requisition-to-Pay. This will also include solid-line ownership of S2P Governance and Compliance
Global owner of Requisition-to-Pay to include oversight of Amgen staff (Tampa & international teams) and third-party outsource firm; process technology; and adherence to procedures and controls
Leader of Tampa-based S2P Operations team which is responsible for S2P governance, regulatory and compliance reporting, and S2P analytics. S2P Operations will also manage the training, technology, and process Improvement activities to fully enable the end-to-end S2P process
Manage internal service owners and regional S2P leads to ensure that all teams are meeting or exceeding SLAs as agreed with process customers
Engage on a quarterly basis with functional (R&D, Operations, Commercial) as well as regional customers (e.g. Regional Finance Directors and GMs) to provide Source-to-Pay metric reports and process updates
Serve as primary leadership contact for Amgen’s transactional finance BPO firm. Hold BPO firm accountable to deliver on contractually-agreed metrics and SLAs, and ensure BPO delivers on commitments to make continuous process improvements
Owner or two or more SOX processes which requires identification of process risks and controls as well as quarterly validation and certification
Oversee the Global Transactional Customer Finance team (based in Europe) which is responsible for cash application, customer master data and A/R reporting

Bachelor’s degree in business and/or MBA
5 years working in a leadership capacity in Source-to-Pay or related areas (e.g. Global Disbursements, Sourcing Excellence, or Requisition-to-Pay) for a large (10K employees) global corporation (ideally in Pharma/Life Sciences sector)
Strong familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to the Source-to-Pay area of a Global, publicly-traded Pharma/Life Sciences company. This includes SOX certification, supplier diversity, and HCP reporting requirements
Experience working with Ariba Sourcing, Contracting, Procurement and Invoicing and SAP ERP
Experience with the Sourcing Process, including the RFI/RFP process, as well as contract negotiations, creation and renewals.
5 years leading teams in a capability center setting, preferably in a capability center that is in a “start-up” mode
Experience managing teams that are based in international locations
Experience managing offshore BPO firm for transactional finance services with a track record of holding vendors accountable for meeting performance standards and continuous service improvement
Experience with Process Improvement, including exposure to Process Improvement tools or techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, or other Continuous Improvement methods)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership as well as larger groups
