Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for world class candidates to lead our global program efforts to accelerate government, education and non-profit customer adoption. As a Technical BD Program Manager within AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS), you will have the exciting opportunity to create and deliver strategies to build adoption of Amazon\u2019s Edge infrastructure & Services (Direct Connect, CloudFront, RT53, WAF, AWS Shield, etc.). You will:

Manage the WWPS Edge strategy and roadmap, focused on the introduction of new Edge Locations, CloudFront sites, Direct Connect sites, Snowball Edge clusters, and peering with public sector networks
Understand the business and technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for Edge Locations and Edge Services around the world
Support Edge infrastructure maturity assessments in public sector territories, planning, and coordination, due diligence, business cases for new edge locations or new services in existing locations.
Work cross functionally with a broad set of teams across Amazon including Infrastructure Global Expansion, sales, legal, marketing, government relations, finance, compliance, security, training, and software development to identify and define initiatives and drive them through execution
Design and drive programmatic efforts with the global sales, business development, and government relations teams to accelerate customer adoption of AWS Edge services.
Research global customer requirements, markets, and environments
Establish goals, plans, and related metrics, track progress, and manage through obstacles to achieve program objectives
Understand the business and technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings
Understand and forecast macro-adoption patterns worldwide for the public sector
Assist in the content preparation of senior management business reviews
Availability to travel up to 50% of the time based on geography and seasonality of the business

Basic Qualifications

10 years of IT sales, channel business development or program management experience.
2 years of experience working with public sector customers (government, education & non-profit)
1 years of experience working with Cloud Computing technology and a utility pricing model
BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience/Understanding of Networking, Infrastructure Architecture, Technical Service Delivery, Telecommunications, Application & SW Development
International customer experience
Management consultancy or public sector experience.
Technical understanding of AWS and cloud computing
Executive CxO level briefing experience
Master\u2019s degree in business, finance, economics, or economic development
Track record of consistently exceeding performance metrics.
Demonstrated ability to create and drive successful broad scale programs
Solid understanding of IT total cost of ownership, internet service provider economics, or data center economics
Strong verbal, analytical and written communications skills.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences
Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
