Administrative Legal Specialist
The candidate will provides full paralegal support to the four faculty members of the Women's Prison Project, including the drafting and preparation of subpoenas, records requests, and client correspondence; other litigation duties including the coordination, organization, and maintenance of client files, transcripts, and appellate records, the coordination of filing and service in various jurisdictions and courts throughout the state, verification of service of process, investigative case responsibilities, coordination of prison visits and faculty travel, maintaining a calendar of Project activities and deadlines, screening and intake responsibilities, legal research, and general office support work. Must have proficiency in various standardized word processing, spreadsheet and database management software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) needed. Must have superior organizational skills. Should have Associates degree in a relevant field. Paralegal certificate is required. Experience with on-line legal databases and/or electronic filing systems is plus.
