As part of a small dedicated project management team, you will provide project management on behalf of the Lead Partner, University of Plymouth, for an exciting €4.1m project, “FISH INTEL”. It is an interdisciplinary project, part-funded by the INTERREG VA France (Channel) England European Programme (ERDF), which aims to use innovative underwater fish tracking technology to enable authorities across the Channel region to implement Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management. The project itself is a collaboration between 12 institutions in England, France and Belgium and you will have oversight of the project partners. The role involves management of project deliverables in collaboration with Work Package leaders; management of the project budget; reporting and compliance with the requirements of the funders. It will also involve close collaboration with all project partners, whether administrative/ financial or academic, as you will be their first point of contact. You will provide day-to-day coordination of the administrative and internal systems and processes of the project, organising partnerships meetings online, in Plymouth and France, work with the project Communication leader. You will be regularly liaising with partners, supporting them with the reporting to funders, whether for activities or expenditure eligibility. The primary focus of the role will be to facilitate the timely delivery of project activities and outputs through management of project resources. We wish to appoint a skilled Project Manager to join our FISH INTEL team. You will have strong experience of project management and partnership working across institutions; experience of managing large multi-partner, interdisciplinary projects; record keeping and project reporting experience, including understanding and monitoring of budgets and profiling of spend across the budget timeline. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, communication skills (oral and written), and ability to work independently, set and adhere to deadlines effectively, manage the contributions of others to efficient and timely delivery against targets. You will be joining a dynamic team of researchers based in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, School of Biological and Marine Sciences, at the University of Plymouth and more specifically working within the aMER team (Marine ecology to inform environmental management) led by Dr Emma Sheehan. You will have the opportunity develop and consolidate your Project Management skills working within an international partnership involving various institutions. You will also have the opportunity to further your knowledge about how/when/where fish move in the Channel, their preferred habitats, the impact of fishing, climate change, offshore windfarms or mariculture and how this can support a more sustainable management of marine resources.
