Senior Construction Project Manager
The candidate will plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. Will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Pro-actively, collaboratively and effectively manage the construction phase of projects. Understand contract requirements and administer contract effectively. Follow up on issues that can impact project goals, and take the lead in arriving to a resolution effectively. Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities. Review contractor’s schedule and verify if progress is consistent with schedule. Review contractor’s request for change order for validity and take the lead in negotiating equitable compensation. Monitor quality of construction for compliance with contract documents and industry standards. Maintain project records in an organized manner. Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations. Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met. Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues. Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports. Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims. Maintain positive working relationships with the client and all team members. B.S. in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering. 9 years of construction. 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. Renovation and new construction projects experience. Registered Architect, Licensed Engineer or Certified Construction Manager preferred. Technical proficiency in the practice of construction project management. Excellent presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills. Ability and confidence to make recommendations for decisions. Knowledge of building material, systems, and methods of construction. Ability to work positively with all team members.
