Senior Counsel, Global Sourcing

The candidate will provide legal support and strategic legal advice to the Global Sourcing organization. You will manage complex legal issues, lead sourcing projects and contribute to the overall development and fulfillment of the company’s sourcing strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance regarding a wide range of complex sourcing and commercial legal matters, including drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, process development and implementation, deal structuring, transactional risk assessment and support, and training initiatives. This role is open to candidates in U.S. and UK; work location may include remote. Work with the Global Sourcing team as a business partner to identify opportunities to drive business forward, e.g. working with the function for negotiating, structuring and management of opportunities in sourcing. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating strategic agreements and transactions . Applying combined business and legal judgment, relationships and other factors to matters requiring legal or compliance attention. Collaboration with business and regional legal colleagues and subject matter experts to analyze and advise the business on complex legal/compliance issues that arise out of GE Healthcare’s global operation. Manage pre-litigation claims, disputes, and settlements arising out of Sourcing relationships. Develop and deliver training on legal contract, process and compliance matters. Manage outside counsel relationships as needed. JD Degree (or equivalent) with active bar membership. Must have 7+ years of commercial law experience (or equivalent outside the U.S.) at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex business transactions, preferably in supply chain context. Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls. Experience in the healthcare industry a plus. Experience engaging with senior-level colleagues and clients globally. Creative and practical in crafting solutions that both enable and protect business interests, while mitigating legal risks. Strength in issue-spotting” based on broad exposure to multiple fields of law. Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate fluently in English. Excellent oral and written communication skills (including legal drafting). Commitment to integrity, compliance, and professionalism.
