A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an Entry Level Immigration Attorney to join their team.

 

Job Overview:

The Entry Level Immigration Attorney will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and will be responsible for managing a caseload, representing clients in removal proceedings, preparing immigration applications, and providing strategic solutions to clients. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in immigration law.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage caseload efficiently
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered)
  • Demonstrated interest in Immigration law from Law School clinics or volunteer work or internship
  • Demonstrated interest in Immigration law from Law School clinics or volunteer work or internship
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred (Spanish)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred

 

Certifications:

Active Bar admission

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management Software
