The Digital Enablement team in the Manufacturing HQ group at Schlumberger defines and executes the strategy to drive digitalization across the manufacturing value chain and promotes the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions that can be used to leverage value by building a cohesive data ecosystem.
The team’s mission is to accelerate the development & deployment of scalable digital capabilities, processes, and technology solutions that enable data-driven operations for all manufacturing centers worldwide. The team provides subject matter expertise in all areas related to digitalization, on topics ranging from shopfloor machine connectivity to manufacturing execution and data management. Based on the manufacturing model, product mix, and volume, the team also helps to define the digital roadmaps for our centers and bring digital convergence to ultimately make manufacturing more efficient and agile.
Responsibilities:
Identify universal digital solutions to connect our manufacturing equipment and enable automatic collection of machine data across all our manufacturing plants
Create guidelines and processes to support machine connectivity initiatives across our organization
Define the parameters to increase efficiency, lower cost, improve quality and safety in Schlumberger’s manufacturing processes by leveraging machine connectivity solutions
Shape and drive the architecture, design, and technical capabilities required to deliver ICS solutions. (For example, Operational Technologies, Industrial Automation, Analytics, Reporting, Dashboard, Remote connectivity, Security etc.)
Conduct research to determine the feasibility, cost and performance benefits of new industrial control systems used in manufacturing operations
Support the assessment of cyber security compliance in our manufacturing operations, and align machine connectivity solutions with the global Schlumberger Cyber Security initiatives
Provide technical advice to our manufacturing centers on their industrial automation & control system projects
Analyze existing industrial automation connectivity solutions within SLB and define the evolution of such solutions to enable stronger integration with our business systems
Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree (preferred but not essential) in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Computer) with minimum 3 years experience
Significant project experience and capability to specify Industrial Automation platforms, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and Historians
Experience in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning modern HMI/SCADA applications and demonstrated problem solving skills using SCADA systems and architectures is required
Strong knowledge in industrial sensor selection & specification
Proficiency in Industrial Automation protocols – Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet IP, CIP, etc.
Ability to configure and maintain machine data collection systems via high level communication protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, etc.
Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) cybersecurity and incident response management
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
