The candidate will support Assistant United States Attorney's (AUSAs) by providing a wide variety of technical assistance services related to adversary proceedings and contested matters in bankruptcy. Provides expert advice on bankruptcy legal support work. Provides training, guidance and technical assistance to other legal support staff. Provides a variety of direct legal support to one or more AUSAs. Performs legal research for assigned cases. Prepares a wide variety of legal documents. Prepares and manages discovery, evidence, and trial exhibits. Must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is defined as providing assistance to attorneys by preparing complaints, motions, subpoenas, orders, or other hearing documents accurately and in proper format; conducting legal research; verifying citations and statutory references contained in legal documents; preparation and management of evidence and discovery and assisting in trial preparation. Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this series/grade level. This job is open to Current federal employees of this agency.
