Join General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's Personnel Modernization program is currently searching for a Technical Writer for an opportunity in New Orleans, LA.
The Technical Writer writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, project plans, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications and related technical publications to communicate the technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
The Tech Writer will also support Theme Teams that will be focused on the design, development, implementation and testing of a PeopleSoft development for Navy Pay and Personnel:
Assist the task leadership team in tracking status of all task efforts.
Provide support in developing and coordinating all contractual deliverables. Work with the different delivery teams to solicit content and with the deliverables lead and tech writer to develop the deliverable.
Assist Project Scheduler with tracking status of tasks and ensuring IMS is kept current.
Develop status reports.
Document meeting minutes for all Theme Team meetings
3 years of technical writing experience
Bachelor's degree; 4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional
Basic familiarity with software development
Interim Secret clearance (or full Secret)
Navy experience desired
Serena Dimensions CM experience is desired
Have meticulous eye for detail, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have proven ability of providing product or customer support
