Duties: Developing strategy to enhance branding and presence with elected leaders and key stakeholders throughout the federal government. Leading lobbying effort on behalf through the establishment and maintenance of professional trusted advisor relationships with Members of Congress, executive branch and federal agency officials, and their staff. Executing and coordinating federal government affairs positions and strategies on legislative, policy and political regulatory issues impacting. Developing and executing proactive policy and strategic plans to influence legislation and federal agency actions for both corporate and business/product specific initiatives. Identifying policy priorities through internal stakeholder engagement. Managing a multi-issue federal policy portfolio, including independently analyzing relevant legislative and regulatory activity and developing company positioning. Building content for responsive advocacy campaigns while managing strategic deployment of outside consultants, lobbyists and coalition partners. Representing the company and establishing mutually beneficial relationships with trade associations, other key organizations, coalitions and other industry forums, including Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), National Retail Federation (NRF), and US Chamber of Commerce, to drive broader alignment with advancing the company objectives. Collaborating with team to develop and execute strategic federal political giving plans (including political action committee giving) and representing the company at fundraisers, conventions and related events. Advising Lowe’s leadership on appropriate business goals and strategies that may have impact to Lowe’s from federal legislative, executive, and regulatory activities. Consulting with appropriate business and corporate stakeholders in making such determinations, providing recommendations for formulation of action plans. Provide political counsel to internal business leaders by: Informing senior leadership and developing executive communications on issues within policy portfolio. Providing strategic guidance to support executive engagement with policymakers, trade associations and other non-governmental entities. Identifying and preparing executives for potential political sensitivities or proactive engagement opportunities arising during public appearances. Collaborating with cross-company functions to ensure message alignment on policy issues to inform communications and business positioning. Support other Government Affairs activities and projects, including: Identifying, shaping and/or creating opportunities at public events to educate policymakers, staff and influencers about to bolster the company’s reputational and political capital. Developing or overseeing the creation of content for internal and external communications related to federal policy or for policy-making audiences. Representing the Government Affairs office with internal or external stakeholders to provide education about the function or build internal support for Political Action Committee. Representing at fundraising events and other community/non-governmental partner events.
