Operations & Field Support Specialist

Colorado Springs Utilities is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, and self-starter to join our Energy Services team as an Operations & Field Support Specialist. In this role, you will provide a wide variety of support and services for the Service Response, Dispatch, Revenue Protection, Service Center, Customer Revenue, AMR/AMI and the Meter shop

sections.

Key Areas of Focus:

Support activities to include: system data accuracy, scheduling activities, project management, reconciling red tags administered by field personnel, error management, and new construction

New Construction: Initiate the meter installation process from the inspection, follow-up, rework, to the set of the meter to ensure regulations are met. Provide follow-up to ensure data accuracy within the customer account system

Administer of the Red Tag Program for Field Services; tracks the collection and/or receipt of documents; liaison between Pikes Peak Regional Building (PPRBD) and contractors to ensure compliance and completion of hazards

Analyze and interpret data to identify and correct errors by field employees to ensure data and billing accuracy

Troubleshoot problem by gathering and researching data; analyzes data to come to conclusions or recommendations

May be assigned to specific analytical projects and programs requiring a general evaluation and assessment

Provide assistance, through research and evaluation for a specific department or division

Maintain and update calendaring systems and coordinate scheduling for multiple cross-organizational projects

Liaison with outside agencies to include CSPD and EPSO, to coordinate field visits for Code 1 customers

Review invoices for payment

**This position is considered Essential Personnel and will be required to report during emergency situations and inclement weather

What will it take to be successful?

Most candidates will have at least two years of customer service or administrative and business support experience and a high school diploma or G.E.D. Previous experience in a construction or engineering field a plus. Additionally, to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and/or abilities:

Strong customer service skills especially over the telephone

Ability to multi-task and respond to rapidly shifting priorities, remaining flexible and open

Team player with strong personal work ethic

Ability to learn applications, software, two-way radio, and processes quickly

Ability to exercise independent judgment

Ability to identify process issues and implement solutions

Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook

Strong attention to detail and follow through with responsibilities

Strong data research and analysis skills
