Description
The Senior Strategy Advancement Professional provides data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. The Senior Strategy Advancement Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
Location: Prefer Washington, DC or Louisville, KY but candidates can work remotely from any location with possibility of travel
The Senior Strategy Advancement Professional will be based at our office in Washington, DC. or Louisville, KY with flexibility of Work At Home. This role will execute strategic initiatives across Corporate Affairs including Federal Affairs, Public Policy, State Affairs and Humana's Political Action Committee.
The Senior Strategy Advancement Professional leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources including:
Develop significant content for effective and motivating advocacy communications (e.g., websites, newsletters, emails, etc.) for internal and external audiences, and concise, data-driven internal reporting and tracking.
Partner with internal stakeholders (state and federal government relations, corporate communications, public policy and issues management, external affairs, and company business units) to develop and implement advocacy strategies and objectives via coalitions and campaigns.
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to develop deep knowledge of Humana's public policy priorities and the potential implications to the Company.
Interpret polling/survey data to develop strategic advocacy activities that support the Company's public policy priorities.
Build and maintain a system for tracking the impact of grassroots initiatives and value of trade association, third-party coalitions and campaigns toward achieving business objectives.
Coordinate and facilitate internal and external stakeholder meetings, in-person or via teleconference.
Identify opportunities to deepen relationships or build coalitions that align support for the Company's business development objectives.
Enhance existing capabilities by meeting with vendors to ensure the Company's leveraging resources effectively.
Role Essentials
Bachelors degree
5 or more years of communications, program management and/or government affairs experience
Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties.
Experience interacting confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders, while being adept and comfortable with influencing decision-making
Experience relating to healthcare policy and business
Mastery of Microsoft Office products, Excel and PowerPoint
Role Desirables
Demonstrated experience in managing political campaigns; performing issue advocacy; coalition management.
Experience developing and managing strategic advocacy activities that achieve desired outcomes
Extensive experience writing and developing effective and motivating content for advocacy activities.
Understanding of government program policy at federal and state levels
Additional Information
For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
